If a competitor is unable to play they must notify the Secretary as soon as possible.
1. Bank Championship & Venture Cup Qualifying Rounds
It is emphasised that competitors must be on the first tee, ready to play ahead of their starting time. The Committee reserves the right to add penalty strokes for lateness.
2. Venture Cup Competition
In the event of a tie for the knockout stages of this competition, the best net scores on the Primary Course will decide. If a tie still results, then the best net scores on the last nine holes of the Primary Course will decide.
If a qualifier does not wish to participate in the match play, they must notify the Secretary before 5pm on Tuesday of Golf Week so that their name is omitted from the draw.
3. Veterans Trophy Competition
Veterans may select to play in the Veterans Trophy, The Venture Cup or neither

Wednesday's Competition
On Tuesday afternoon, members can submit pairings or a complete four ball for the Wednesday competition (not the Matchplay) via the website. Sub-Committee members will be in attendance to find partners where necessary and to deal with any queries. Anybody not selecting a pairing etc will be allocated a random grouping. The Committee will complete the draw and a start sheet will be posted on NPR 9pm. This Competition will be played on the Secondary Course.
Thursday's Competitions
On Wednesday afternoon, members can submit pairings or a complete four ball for the Thursday competition (not the Matchplay) via the website. Sub-Committee members will be in attendance to find partners where necessary and to deal with any queries. Anybody not selecting a pairing etc will be allocated a random grouping. The Committee will complete the draw and a start sheet will be posted on NPR 9pm. As these competitions are held over both courses, your pairing or 4 ball members may determine which course you are allocated.
Friday's Competitions
Start sheets for the Joseph Fitton Salver on the Primary Course and the Langdale Trophy on the Secondary Course will be in NPR by 9pm on Thursday evening. All members attending the meeting are included in the draw. Match play finalists please notify the secretary as soon as possible if you wish to play on Friday morning also your Caddy requirements.
5. Rules
The rules of the meeting are the rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, as varied by local rules in force at the host clubs. Please see the notice board at the for any local rules.
6. Slow Play & Etiquette
For a variety of reasons our host courses no longer enjoy quiet times during the week. The pressure on Club Committees and Secretaries is such that the Association, if we are to remain welcome must take note and guide other members accordingly. The Association is somewhat exposed in that we are a very large group and prevail upon our host clubs over a 5-day period.
The Captain & Committee passionately remind members to play without undue delay, replacing divots & repairing pitch marks throughout the week. Particular attention is drawn to the rules regarding playing a provisional ball , the definition of a ‘lost ball and teeing off without any delay on the next hole after holing out.
7. Handicaps
Competitions during the Meeting are not Qualifying competitions under the WHS scheme. Members are asked to advise the Secretary of any change to their Handicap Index on the appropriate notice on the notice board provided at the Main Hotel or via this Website using the Handicap Change form or your personal profile.

9. Play Under Members own Arrangements
The Assocation has reserved and paid for Tee times according to the organised competitions. Any play outside of these times, i.e practice or social rounds in the afternoons after the organised competitions are only allowed with the express permission of the club Professional at the time of play, who will record your round and bill the Golf Association. Association members DO NOT have courtesy of the couse for the entrie week and we ask our members to limit their practice rounds to limit costs and to allow our hosts members to play. Practice rounds are only allowed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

11. Annual Dinner Friday , 7.30 for 8pm.
A seating plan will be available at the main Hotel and those wishing to attend should enter their names by Wednesday at the very latest.
12. Dress
Members are to observe the dress requirements of the club, details of which will be available on the notice board in the . Dress in the evening is informal but for the Annual Dinner when guests & ladies will be present, formal dress (black tie) will be optional whilst lounge suits will be equally correct if preferred.
13. Amendments
Members are requested to call at the on Sunday evening to study the notice board and to acquaint themselves with any amendments to the programme.
14. The Association Tie
The Association Tie will be available in a choice of blue or burgundy silk at a cost of £10. An Association ‘bow tie in blue silk is also available at a cost of £5. Both can be purchased from the Committee office from Sunday evening onwards.
The Captain would appreciate that all Members of the Association wear the Association Tie during the Annual General Meeting.
15. 2's Sweep.
The Professional at each club will be running a 2's sweep for each competition day, except for the match play stages of the Venture Cup and Veteran's Trophy. Members should pay the appropriate fee, prior to teeing-off in that day's competition.
Balls should be collected direct from the Secretary unless otherwise advised on the notice board.
16. Correspondence.
Correspondence and enquiries concerning the meeting after Thursday prior to Golf Week should be addressed to the Association Secretary at the Main Hotel .
